What Is The Facebook Virus?

The facebook virus comes from downloading and playing games in facebook. Facebook is known with its interactive User interface, its games and its huge social network. All of facebook games are built upon ActiveX controls which are at high security risk. This risk is where the viruses comes from.
The virus is more like spyware and can open popups, delete files and wrack your Operating system easily.

The Solution For The Facebook Virus

To get rid of facebook viruses, you should use an Anti Spyware. My recommendation is SpywareCease. It is not a free Anti Spyware(though I really recommend NOT TO USE a free anti spyware), but also it is not expensive and it is definitely worth the money as it is rated as the one of the best Anti spywares today. SpywareCease will remove facebook virus and spywares it finds  in a few minutes as its database holds the latest viruses and spyware around, and while it is installed on your PC, it will prevent facebook viruses from threating your computer in the future.

Download SpywareCease Now by clicking here!

In order to keep your computer safe from any virus including all facebook viruses, it is very recommended to use an antivirus software to keep your computer free of malicious softwares.

Great post, Just on time. I use Norton and Facebook and I see Norton quarantines a lot of Facebook files and cookies. Seems like it works cause I was never infected with any of the Facebook errors around.

Hey – I got this virus as well but I found a simple way to remove it.

    1. Complte AVG scan (free edition)
    2. Shut down the iexplore.exe process using the task manager
    3. Delete the following folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\690974

    that’t it (worked for me)

Hi Nir, Maybe AVG Removes Facebook Viruses, but I’m really not recommending on using a free Anti Virus as you have no reliable support and not necessarily have an up to date threats database. I know from my experience that Norton does a great job and it is ready to handle any threat today. :-)

The codecsetup.exe was downloaded and ran on my computer. An error message appeared right away. I ran spybot and AVG, with the latest updates and it found nothing. How do I know if I have the full virus/worm? My computer runs slow anyway because I have very little HD space left
  18. admin says:
    Hi B.K.M.
It doesn’t have to be virus/spyware. You don’t have a lot of space in your HD what causes low virtual memory, I would recommend you to run a registry cleaner to free some space on your HD by removing the unneeded temporary files and it should also fix your error message. If that doesn’t help than you should extend you HD. Hope it helps.
