If your computer is quite new or you have recently installed windows yourself then there could be something wrong with the instillation media used to install windows. You should check that the CD used to install windows is not scratched; any scratches on the disk could pose no problems to the installation but could result in problems when trying to use the operating system.
The error is also much more likely if you are using an illegal copy of windows XP or vista. A burned copy is more likely to have errors in it which is why it’s much better to use genuine installation media when installing windows.
Hardware problems
Ntdll.dll errors can also be caused because of hardware problems. Specifically the cable to connect the hard drive to your computers motherboard could be broken or damaged. You could try using a different cable to see whether or not this solves the problem.
If this is the problem then you can replace the cable by purchasing a new one from any computer store.
Driver Problems
Ntdll.dll errors are also commonly caused by corrupt or outdated drivers on your computer. You need to make sure that you update all of the drivers on your computer to make sure that everything is free from errors.
Ntdll.dll errors may also be a result of a spyware or virus infection. In this case you need to use a virus scanner to remove any potential threats from your computer before they have a chance to damage your computer.
Fixing the Ntdll.dll error may seem tricky at first, however if you learn how to do it properly then you can stop it from happening again.
