Fixing the lsass.exe Error on Start-up

1. Running Virus Scan
   If it’s possible to boot into your computer into windows then you will need to install a virus scanner and adware scanner. By running these scans you can remove any malware from your computer and hopefully speed it up.
2. Safe Mode
   If you’re unable to boot into windows then you can try to boot into safe mode. This is a special version of windows which can be used whenever your operating system isn’t working properly.  To access Safe mode press F8 when your computer is booting and select the safe mode option.

3. System Restore
   The final solution is to use System Restore to roll your computer back to a time when it worked correctly. To do this you will first need to boot into safe mode following the steps above.  However instead of running Safe mode you should open Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

   Once the command prompt has loaded you should then type the following “%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe” then press enter to run the system restore utility

   Follow the steps detailed on the system restore wizard which will help you to select a time when your computer worked properly and didn’t suffer from the Lsass.exe error.

4. Reinstalling Windows
   Another option is to format your computer and reinstall windows. This is the most invasive option but will be guaranteed to fix all of your software errors. This will be time consuming though and you need to ensure that you have all of your drivers and licence codes with you.

Windows is a difficult to understand at times and it can be a nightmare to use. However with a bit of patience you should be able to resolve all of the errors you have been suffering from and make your computer much more reliable. The lsass.exe error on start-up is very common but it certainly isn’t something that you should put up with.
