Can a Registry Cleaner Make My Computer Faster?

Many people are talking about registry fixers or registry cleaners these days. It’s hard to know what’s true about these cleaners and what’s false. Many who sell registry cleaners will tell you that buying their cleaner will do a lot to maximize your computer’s performance. Let’s take a look at the truths and falsehoods about buying registry cleaners and what they can do. What you need to know first is exactly what a registry cleaner or fixer really does for your PC.

The registry of the computer is in constant usage and is the main brains of the PC. You need your registry during start up, shut down and whenever you are uploading or downloading a program. The registry is in constant “motion” — allowing access from other parts of the computer. Over time, things are added to the registry that are no longer necessary and are things that slow down your computer every time your computer accesses the registry —which is a lot.

All of these redundant pieces of information and invalid entries to the registry can slow down the computer’s performance. This can cause a lag in performance and your computer will run more slowly. Such invalid entries can make your computer freeze, shut down or just run really slowly.
This is how registry cleaners work. When your computer takes information from the registry, it is slowed down by having to look at and discard invalid data. There may actually be more than one direction for the same thing, which can confuse the system. It’s like having two people giving you opposite directions at the same time. The computer doesn’t know how to think. The computer is then slowed trying to decide what to do. You can have invalid entries that make your computer run more slowly, make your system unstable, and can make you lose a program altogether. It can be more than a hassle; it can ruin the function of your computer.

In reality, even a good registry cleaner program may not be able to have your computer moving more swiftly right off the bat. There can be other problems with the computer that have nothing to do with the registry. Who knows? You may be lucky and it’s a registry problem causing all of your slowdowns. In such cases, the registry cleaning program may be all you really have to have a swiftly running computer. Doing registry cleaning regularly should be something you do every once in a while in order to take care of the various things that add up over time to ruin the registry. It should be something like the oil change on your vehicle — just keep doing it and your performance will be going great all of the time. It’s preventative maintenance every computer needs.

Registry cleaners can improve the speed of your computer and can prevent future problems with your registry, especially if you purchase a high quality registry cleaner. It may not speed up the quality of your computer today, especially if you have recently done it but if this is your first time that you have done it, it’s a good chance your computer will run faster.
